Eight queens will compete for the title of Italy's First Drag Superstar, including the self-proclaimed "highest paid drag queen in Italy," a muscle maven, an opera singer, comedy queens, and a queen who touts her favorite out-of-drag moment as the time she "saved herself" from the Costa Concordia ship disaster in 2012.
International drag superstar Priscilla — who rose to prominence on the Greek iteration of the global Got Talent franchise — will preside over the Drag Race Italia panel of judges, which also includes actress Chiara Francini and controversial media personality Tommaso Zorzi.
Drag Race Italia joins production company World of Wonder's ever-growing slate of global Drag Race spin-offs, which now includes iterations in Thailand, South America, the United Kingdom, Holland, Spain, Australia, Canada, and the Emmy-winning American original.
"I think about the person that I needed when I was young, that was such a driving force. When I got the call, I was like, you're going to be that person in a way that inspires hope," season 13 champion Symone previously told EW of continuing to grow the show's footprint, which has steadily expanded around the world in recent years. "It can be done, and I'm going to do it. So, I want to continue those journeys and breaking those molds and being in those rooms that we're not necessarily seen in. I want to be on TV, I want to act, I want to host, I want to tour, I want to see the world, I want to do it all."
